Blood Bowl Amazon Team, Spike! 15 and Star Players Unboxing and Review

Good Morning Sports Fans! As we head to the grid-iron those wonderful Amazon women are ready to kick ass and take names as they make their season debut for Blood Bowl! In today’s post we check out the new Amazon team for Blood Bowl along with Spike! 15 and the new Star Players Boa Kon’ssstriktr, Glotl Stop and Estelle la Veneaux in our full unboxing and review!

Massive thanks to Games Workshop for sending us free review copies a little ahead of release to get painted up and share with you all! All these goodies are up for pre order today, if you would like to support the site then why not order your Amazons through our affiliate Element Games and save yourself 20%?

We also have a full unboxing video down below or over on YouTube if you would rather watch than read!

So get your team together and ready to head out onto the field as we check out the Amazons and their new Star Players!

First up we have the Amazon Team themselves, and I have to say the scheme on the box art is gloriously colourful and would make great use of the new vibrant contrast colours that recently got released!

The set has some really cool details such as crystal skull balls, and each positional having subtle detailing to mark them out as each role – for example Eagle Warriors have lots of feathers, Python Warriors have snakes – this makes it very easy to identify them on the pitch!

Inside the box are full rules for the team, and they look pretty good! The Hit and Run on the Piranha Warriors make them very slippery – essentially after a block they get a free move one square as long as they are not marked at the end of it, meaning they could slip themselves free of the line of scrimmage to get into a better position! Do a Blitz and they could block, slip out, then run up the pitch towards the end zone!

Next up we have the three star players – Boa Kon’ssstriktr, Glotl Stop and Estelle la Veneaux all represented with stunning Forge World models!

I was lucky enough to be able to paint the three of these up for this article, and I have to say I had such a fun time doing so! They really suit bright vibrant schemes and really are a refreshing change after dark and muted colours – if you want to paint something different they are well worth picking up as a fun little palette cleanser!

I’m looking forward to painting up the rest of the team and seeing how they perform on the pitch!

Also released alongside the models is Spike! 15 – this is essentially an “in-universe” Blood Bowl magazine with interviews and write ups about the team, its very tongue in cheek but a lot of fun and well worth picking up to supplement the team.

While a lot of it is light and fun, there are also full tips and tactics in using the team, from write ups about each positional, suggested starting positions and also suggested initial starting teams. Full rules are also included for both the team and each of the new Star Players up for order today.

The book also has some supplemental material for playing games of Blood Bowl with a more Amazon vibe, rules for weather and kick off events and rules for the special Crystal Skull and Snake balls included on the sprue.

If you play Dungeon Bowl then you also get rules for using Amazon models to supplement the College of Heavens, giving you more options for your games!

The new Amazons look a whole lot of fun and I can’t wait to try them out on the pitch!

Everything is up for pre order today and is released Saturday 8th October

Games Workshop provided Sprues and Brews with free copies for review purposes.

  1. That’s awesome that you all got some preview material! It looks like Amazons are a 1 box team?? That definitely tips me towards purchasing them. I thought at first I was going to have buy a whole nother box (at $50!) for 2 more Blitzers.
