Wazdakka Gutsmek is leading the spearhead against the world of Armageddon in Warhammer 40k’s latest supplement! He’s not alone though, as he is accompanied by an Ork Speedwaaagh that clearing the way for Ghazghkul’s return!

In this full review and unboxing we’ll be checking out the awesome new Wazdakka Gutsmek kit, along with the new Ork Battalion box that are both dropping alongside the new Armageddon campaign book. We’ll take a look at the kits, see how they go together, and paint them up so we can see what they look like in the flesh!

We’ll also take a look at Wazdakka’s new rules!

So without further ado let’s check out what the new kits are like!

Wazdakka Gutsmek Unboxing

Wazdakka is a character who has been in the lore for a long time, but has never had a model! This was back in the days that Games Workshop often included rules for units that did not have models yet, with the intention that they would be added at a later time. Now there was a Forge World model for a Warlord on Bike that everyone used as him, but there’s not been a plastic one – until now!

He is without a doubt one of the best kits I’ve ever built! Clocking in at £52 is isnt cheap, but he is a massive model and great fun to work on. One thing I would say here is that it’s very important to build this one in subassemblies as there’s a lot of detail here that will be obscured and hard to get to with a paintbrush once it’s all stuck together.

For me, I built the base (With the “special effects” of the exhaust and dust) glued to it. You do have the option of building him without this exhaust effect, but I think it looks amazing and would always build him with it!

The body of the bike is then a separate assembly, as is the front section of the bike. Wazdakka Gutsmek himself and his Grot Fixxit are also separate assemblies. This I found gives you the best midground between being able to get to hidden areas, while still being able to paint it.

You can’t really tell how big this kit is until you see it alongside some other models! He towers over Ghazgkhul and even some of the other vehicles in the range, really making him a centrepiece for a Speed Freaks army!

So what does he do from a rules point of view? Well Wazdakka is a bit of a jack of all trades! He’s quick at Movement 14 and this can be made faster still with his Shokka Engine – essentially you can choose to let him charge after advancing, make him always advance 6″ with the ability to move through cover, or use his Shokk Attack engine to go into reserves.

He’s pretty tanky too with 10 wounds, a 3+ save and a 4+ inv save. If you do manage to wound him then he also heads D3 wounds in the Command Phase too!

He’s also amazing in both melee and shooting, with some surprisingly accurate firepower for an Ork, and the ability to put out a lot of damage across all his weapons.

If you’re wanting to run an entire army of Bikes then he also makes Warbiker units have the Battletline keyword too, which is really cool!

Ork Armageddon Battalion

There’s also a decent Battalion up for pre order today, again this one themed around a Speedwaaagh! Now I am surprised that this one doesnt have any bikers in it, but perhaps that’s a sign that we’re going to get some new ones in 11th Edition…

The price for this is £105 which is a pretty great deal and getting all the contents would cost around £161 direct from Games Workshop

In the box you get a Deffkilla Wartrike, a Rukkatruck Squigbuggy and two boxes of Deffkoptas which gives you a nice little mobile force to accompany Wazdakka while saving you just under £60 too! I really like these boxes that they have put out over this end of edition campaign, and if you’re an Ork player then this is a pretty good one to pick up!
