Today has been a super busy one for fans of Warhammer 40,000. Yarrick is back, he even has a new book about his return. Not only that, but he’s brought another Commissar with him as well as a Ordo Xenos Inquisitor.

For the purposes of this post however, we are going to check out the latest addition to the forces of the Adepta Sororitas, Intranzia Fraye, the Dogmata Superior.

We also are going to unbox two brand new Battalions, one for the Adepta Sororitas and one for the Deathwatch.

If you fancy picking up Fraye, or one of the new Battalions yourself, then why not preorder through our affiliates over at Element Games? You’ll save some cash VS RRP and help us out too!

Before we hit each of these one by one, let’s get them all unboxed.

Intranzia Fraye

Let’s kick off with the brand new Sisters of Battle model, Intranzia Fraye.

She reminds me a lot of the old Inquisitor model, Inquisitor Fyodor Karamazov, as he enjoyed being carried into battle on a walking throne.

It’s a fantastic model, which fits perfectly with the rest of the Sisters range. It was a super straightforward model to assemble, and I really like that the Dogmata herself can be assembled seperately and added to the Throne later. The only interchangeable part in the box is the head of the sister, you get a choice of bare head or helmet.

I was a little nervous when it came to painting, but I actually quite enjoyed painting it. I do feel like I need to return to it now the deadline has passed and work on some of the details, however I’m still happy with the model.

What is she like in game however?

First, her basic stats. She’s got an 8″ move, T7, 3+ Save/4+ Inv, 8 Wounds, 3 OC. She also gets a 5+ FNP and Deadly Demise 1.

She’s packing two heavy bolters, two heavy flamers and a Melta Missile array when it comes to range punch. The missiles getting 2 Attacks, S9, -2 AP and D3 damage (with Melta 2).

For combat, that mace she is holding is called the Mace of Saint Praxedes. She gets 4 attacks, hitting on 2s, S6, -2 and flat 2 damage. It also has Sustained Hits 1.

She then gets Extra Attacks with her Throne, which again get 4 attacks, hitting on 4s, S6, no AP and damage 1.

She gets two buffing abilities, the first being Righteous Denunciation, which allows her at the start of the Fight phase to point at an enemy unit within 6″, forcing said chosen enemy unit to make a Battle-shock test.

The best ability however, is Judged for Execution. At the end of your Movement phase you can select one enemy unit within 18″ and visable. Until the start of your next Command Phase, each time a friendly model makes an attack against the chosen enemy unit, the attack gains Lethal Hits

Adepta Sororitas Battalion

To coincide with the new Armageddon: Return of Yarrick supplement we get two brand new Battalions.

The first is apt as it sits nicely with the new Intrazia mode, and that is a new Battalion for the Sisters of Battle.

So what do you get in the box?

  • A Palatine (HQ)
  • 3 Paragon Warsuits
  • 10 Sisters Novitates
  • 9 Sister Repentia and a Repentia Superior

This is a brilliant box, especally if you don’t mind getting stuck into combat. It’s a great box for both new players to the Adepta Sororitas, or as an expansion for players who already have an army. In fact, it pairs very well with the Combat Patrol!

I’ve got a Sisters army, and I’ve had my eye on a Palatine and Paragon Warsuits, so I’m really excited that both are in here.

Deathwatch Battalion

The second Battalion focuses on one of my favourite Space Marine ‘Chapters’ (technically they aren’t really a Chapter), the Deathwatch!

Now…this is a great sign for the Deathwatch, who have been overlooked this edition. They haven’t had a 10th Edition Codex (aside from some of the units appearing in the Imperial Agents Codex). They only got a downloadable PDF due to pressure from Deathwatch fans.

I’ll be honest, I thought the Deathwatch were toast outside of using Kill Teams in Imperium armies.

Now this Battalion doesn’t gurantee a U-Turn. Both the Blackstar and Kill Team have rules within Imperial Agents, but it’s still nice to have a reminder that they are around.

I’ve already answered it…but here is what’s in the box:

  • 10 Deathwatch Kill Team
  • Corvus Blackstar

It isn’t the most exciting of Battalions, with just a tank and a flyer, however it’s a great box if you do fancy adding some Deathwatch as allies to your Imperium armies.

And let’s be honest, the Blackstar is STILL the best looking flyer in the game (and you cannot change my mind!).
