Chaos Space Marines Dark Commune Unboxing – Warhammer 40k

Whipping their loyal cultists into a fanatical frenzy, the Dark Commune (up for pre order today) lead the lost and the damned in the belief of the dark gods for the glory of Chaos! In today’s review we will be taking a look at the new Dark Commune kit, checking out the sprue and seeing what they look like when painted and assembled.

Massive thanks to Games Workshop for sending us a free review copy to check out with you guys! If you would like to support the site then why not order your Dark Commune through our affiliate Element Games and save yourself money too!

We have also filmed a full unboxing of the kit which you can see below or over on YouTube

The Dark Commune is one of the new units added to the Chaos Space Marine book and acts as a cultist HQ unit consisting of a psyker, a priest and a cultist buffing banner supported by 2 body guards – something nice to add some variety to the types of Chaos Space Marine army you can put together

Consisting of a single sprue building 5 models, this is a really gorgeous kit and is pretty quick to build up!

I have to say, this has been one of my favourite kits to paint up for the Chaos Space Marines – I’d have loved to have seen the option to do a pure cultist force – unfortunately that is not an option, however this does give you some nice options for variety in your force

What’s great about this kit too is the fact that this would work really well for some of the renegade options that were available for The Horus Heresy. While the new book is not out yet, the previous Militia and Cults list contained a number of units that would be well represented by using models from this box – Which hopefully still stands when the book does drop!

I thoroughly enjoyed painting this set, and I’m already hungry to add more of a cultist element to my Word Bearers!

The Dark Commune are up for pre order today and are released Saturday 30th July
