Kratos, Deimos Rhino and Special/Heavy Weapon Unboxings: Warhammer The Horus Heresy

Today, alongside the Warhammer the Horus Heresy Age of Darkness box we also have a whole host of new miniatures up for pre order!

Massive thanks to Games Workshop who sent us free copies early to review! If you would like to support the site then why not order your copy through our affiliate Element Games and save yourself money too!

Today we’ll be looking at the brand new Kratos Heavy Assault Tank, the plastic Deimos Rhino and the new MKVI Special and Heavy update sets!

Kratos Heavy Assault Tank

A brand new tank introduced for the Horus Heresy, the Kratos is like the combination of a Sicaran and a Predator that has then been fed growth enhancing stims!

When assembled its a lot bigger than I first expected, with it being almost as big as a Spartan!

Its also got a range of weapon options allowing it to fulfil a number of different roles – I opted for a tank killer by going all in with Melta and Lascannons in order to act as a real threat to vehicles

This is a really nice kit and I look forward to putting one together for my Sons of Horus too!

Deimos Pattern Rhino

Next up we have the Deimos Pattern Rhino, which is a real nostalgia kick for fans of a certain age

While previous available as an upgrade set from Forge World, the kit has now been recreated in Plastic to capture the magic of the original Rhinos for Rogue Trader

Again, like with the Kratos, this thing is beautiful when painted up and really captures that retro vibe!

Special and Heavy Weapon Upgrade Sets

Finally we have a pair of sets that can be used with the new MKVI Tactical Marines in order to upgrade them to Special and Heavy Squads

Each set contains a load of weapons, enough in fact to create an entire special or heavy squad for each weapon type! It’s worth pointing out here with the sculpted hands these are designed for use with the MK VI bodies, and would need a little cutting and conversion work to get them working with other tactical bodies

When built up they look great and are every bit as good as the original resin versions, only cheaper and easier to work with in plastic!

More weapon options will be released separately at a later date

All these sets are up for pre order today and are released Saturday 18th June
