The Falchion Super Heavy Tank Destroyer rolls onto the battlefield today to take on the enemies of the Legions Astartes. In this full unboxing and review we’ll be checking out the kit, seeing how it goes together and painting it up to see what it looks like in the flesh.
It’s not the only tank up for pre order today, as the Spartan Prometheus and Whirlwind are also here too!
Massive thanks to Games Workshop for sending us these over to check out on the site. If you would like to support the site then why not order your Falchion through our affiliate Element Games and save yourself money too?
So without further ado let’s check out the new Super Heavy for the Legions Astartes
Falchion Super Heavy Tank Destroyer
It doesnt feel that long ago that the Fellblade was released in plastic for Warhammer The Horus Heresy. The biggest plastic kit for the system so far, the Fellblade was an incredible kit and looked ace to boot! Since then, we’ve had all 4 super heavy tanks for the marines released in Legions Imperialis, and now we’re getting the third super heavy for Warhammer The Horus Heresy.
The Falchion swaps out the main turret of the Fellblade for the utter devistation of the Neutron-Wave Cannon, a gun almost as powerful as a Titan mounted Turbo-laser destroyer (and in some situations actually nore powerful!)
When you absolutely, positively have to blow up every flipping tank on the battlefield, this is your weapon of choice!
If you’ve built a Fellblade you’ll know what to expect here, as the majority of the assembly is the same. Where this is different however is the fact that the main gun is mounted to the hull. With this the turret of the Fellblade is replaced with a bigger and more enclosed hull on the Falchion.
I actually found this pretty quick to build, more so that a Spartan because we have a lot of bigger pieces, including tracks that go together really easily. As ever the sponson weapons simply twist off, and like with the Fellblade you actually get two sets of weapons here, so you can swap them out between weapons or even pop them on a Spartan to allow them to use these new guns.
There’s only one more super heavy variant we havn’t seen yet, and that’s the Ascalon introduced in Legions Imperialis. This is a similar fixed hull setup, but instead of the big death laser it mounts a huge titan scale flamer. With the other 3 tanks now out in the wild it wouldn’t surprise me if this came along soon too!
Now the question is, how big of a game do I need to field 4 Super Heavies…
The Falchion is up for pre order today and is released Saturday 6th June
