Warcry Chaos Legionnaires Unboxing – Warhammer Age of Sigmar
The Mortal Followers of Be’lakor head to the Heart of Ghur in the latest warband release for Warcry! In this post we will be unboxing and reviewing the Chaos Legionnaires, checking out the models and seeing how they look on both the battlefields of Warcry and Warhammer Age of Sigmar!
Massive thanks to Games Workshop who sent us a free review copy to have a look at a little ahead of release, if you would like to support the site then why not order through our affiliate Element Games and save yourself some money too?
I have also filmed a full unboxing video checking out the new Warband which can be seen below or over on YouTube
So let’s check out the Chaos Legionnaires!
So in addition to the two Warbands in the Heart of Ghur box, we have the Chaos Legionnaires hitting the battlefield today, the mortal followers of Be’Lakor who have a very distinct look to them. Out of the 3 warbands released so far for the new edition these are probably my favourites – just look at the gorgeous sprues below!
As with other Warcry Warbands some of the models can go together in a number of different ways with multiple weapon options available – as ever it’s probably worth checking out the rules first to see which loadout you want to go for – though the box can be built in such a way that you have one of each option
Also included in the box are the full rules for the warband including all their stat cards, abilities and reactions!
As you can see they are pretty tough – their unique reaction allows a unit within 3″ of an enemy to call another fighter to their aid, also bringing them into combat!
There’s also some pretty brutal abilities – Wrath of the First Prince in particular granting a bonus attack action with a Hornhelm in particular being able to automatically grant 3 critical hits totalling 18 damage with used with dice with the value of 5 or 6! this is enough to floor most fighters in a single round of combat!
Tough, strong but short ranged, this will be an aggressive force that wants to close the distance to the enemy while also taking advantage of their reaction to draw more of their warband into combat.
While not completely finished, I’ve been working on these guys and they are a joy to paint with a really nice aesthetic not seen on other chaos models. With Slaves to Darkness on the horizon later this year I am very tempted to pick up some more of these to form the core of my infantry

And speaking of Slaves to Darkness, Warhammer Community have also provided rules for these in games of Age of Sigmar, and I have to say I really like them! Battleline and 110 points for 8 they can put out a decent amount of damage for such a small unit and wound pretty reliably with Be’lakor nearby them. I’m planning on doing a Be’lakor led Slaves to Darkness army, so these seem perfect as a core to serve him! They also have the ability to shut down a unit within 6″ from using commands, which is a very strong ability in this edition of the game
The Chaos Legionnaires are up for pre order today and are released Saturday 27th August
