Ironhead Squats Vartijan Exo-Driller Unboxing – Necromunda

The Squats have been using Exo Armour to act as augmented suits to enhance their warriors since their race spread across the stars – but on Necromunda, they adapted this technology to use for mining. In today’s unboxing we check out the new Ironhead Squat Vartijan Exo-Driller, take a look at all the components and see what it looks like painted up!

Massive thanks to Games Workshop for sending us a free review copy to have a look at and unbox for this post! If you would like to support the site then why not order your Necromunda goodies through our affiliate Element Games and save yourself money too?

We have also filmed a full unboxing video which you can see below or over on YouTube!

So let’s take a look at the kit!

The set is from Forge World and consists of a blister priced at £28.50, which I feel is a decent price for this guy! Based on the price of Vespa and the Stormcaller I was expecting this to be a little more than this, so the ticket price was certainly a pleasant surprise!

The kit doesn’t have a massive amount of parts and is pretty straight forward to put together, so not a bad kit for someone new to Forge World – just make sure you give it a good clean in soapy water first to remove the release agent, otherwise the paint may not stick to the miniature.

Inside the assembly instructions you also get rules for using him in your games too, giving you the option to run him even if you don’t have the Book of the Outlands (Though realistically you’ll want this for the Squat gang rules)

Assembled and painted, the Exo-Driller looks awesome – very industrial as this is primarily a mining suit, but also enough menace to face off against the threats of Necromunda! Jay has painted him up to match with his Ironhead Squats but with an inverted colour scheme to help him pop on the battlefield

The Vartijan Exo-Driller is available to order now from Forge World and is released Saturday 23rd July

Games Workshop provided Sprues & Brews with a free model for review purposes

  1. Beautiful! Do you happen to know the paint shade names used for the little guys? Mainly the shade of orange and blue? Thanks!
