April has flown by and with the end of the month comes another hobby goal update, which also sees my first hobby goal completed… finally.

It might only be listening to an audiobook but a completed hobby goal is still a completed hobby goal, I listened to the novel Space Marine Conquests – Apocalypse by Josh Reynolds which focuses on several marines from several chapters to work together to find a member of the Adeptus Mechanicus who is protecting a secret on a world being besieged by Word Bearers, I’ll keep this spoiler free but the secret is crazy awesome and super cool twist, needless to say it was a great audiobook to listen to.

I have to admit straight of the bat that April was a building month with not a lot of painting done other than my warcry war band that I painted up for my hobby challenge, building wise it would be quicker to write a list of what I have done =
- Ant Man and the Wasp for MCP
- 20 Skeleton Warriors for Old World
- 16 Skeleton Archers for Old World
- Star Wars Shatterpoint core set scenery
- Gondor Tower
- 2 Gondor Mansions
- 2 Stands of Hoplites for Conquest
- 3 Stands of Bow Chosen for Conquest
- 10 Hearthkyn Warriors
- Grimnyr and attendants
Last month I wanted to get a model painted for MCP ( Marvel Crisis Protocol ) and sadly I didn’t, I did finally get Ant Man and the Wasp built which I am going to aim to get done in May which will catch me up to my goal of painting 10 MCP models, I did manage to get the scenery from the Star Wars Shatterpoint core set built and primed.
I’m still not 100% how I want to paint the scenery but I am still in awe as to how much you actually get for a core set there is more than enough for a table’s worth which is amazing, looking at how much detail is on the scenery I don’t think it will take that long to paint once I’ve worked out a scheme I’m happy with, I also wanted to paint up some Middle Earth which is something I have been wanting to do for what feels like a year ( probably longer ) and I still have the Mordor battle host box to paint up so I will need to focus on getting them painted in the not too distant future.
All in all I am happy with the progress I am making on my hobby goals but I am finding that I am “butterflying” i.e. trying to do too many projects at once and not getting very far on them so for next months hobby goal update I want to =
- Paint Ant Man and the Wasp.
- Paint my Kill Team for the kill team / warcry challenge.
- Paint the Witch King on foot and on horse.
I figure with April being a mostly building month that I would focus on some painting for May and these goals feel achievable, I feel like I say that every month.
