Month two of the warcry / kill team challenge is over and as a result I have painted the Horns of Hashut for warcry which have been in my backlog since their release a long time ago.
I have been looking forward to painting the Horns of Hashut for a long time and it is a great feeling to have them done, I could always imagine how I wanted to paint them but they were never a priority until last month, painting wise they were really nice to batch paint with the only the silver stage being a bit of a chore. I did feel at one point that I was rushing my painting just to get them done in time which is something I do not want to do as it takes away from the fun but after taking a couple days break ( thanks to work and the flu ) I came back to painting and really enjoyed doing the highlights.
I decided to do the bases the same style as the Chaos Legionaires I painted last year so that I could potentially mix warbands and use models as allies for other warbands in the future annoyingly I did my Spire Tyrants in a different scheme which I might rebase in the future.
Terrain wise I did manage to paint up some scatter scenery from the Heart of Ghur box to add to some that again I painted last year, I like a lot of people I imagine don’t like spending huge amounts of time painting scenery so I kept the scheme relatively simple with most of the colours being a base coat with a wash over the top, I spent a bit more time on the stonework and the bamboo to make them stand out a bit more but that was just a couple stages of dry brushing.
So March is a kill team month and I am very excited to paint some more kill team so lets roll the dice and see what team will get the painting treatment in March.

Hand of the Archon
Yes ! I have been wanting to paint some Drukhari for ages and I have to admit that the Hand of the Archon was at the top of my kill team paint list so this is going to be fun my only issue is I have about five different colour schemes in my head but that is the beauty of kill team I can just paint a handful of models and if I don’t like the scheme oh well its not an army.
Lets see how I get on next month.
