It is that time when we receive another supply drop from Hachette Partworks. Yes, it’s the next batch of the Age of Sigmar magazine series, Stormbringer!

If you fancy catching up on the last batch of issues, make sure you check out this link right here. Want to be reminded of what you get throughout the magazine run? Then you’ll need Matt’s breakdown right here.

In this batch of issues we have issues 31, 32, 33 and 34, as well as the second Premium issue.

If you would rather watch the magazines being opened, the sprues looked at and the articles flicked through, then why not check out the video below?

Let’s break down what is in each issue, and what you get with it. Oh, and let us not forget, each issue costs £8.99.

Issue 31

Contents: Vigilors (Unit of 5; Stormcast Eternals)

Value: A unit of 10 costs £40 on GW, so we’ll have to divide that by 2. Still gives us a decent saving of £11.01

Magazine Contents: This issue kicks off with a look at the Seraphon, a faction with no models in this magazine series, but as with all issues this series is aimed at those new to Age of Sigmar. It also has a quick synopsis of the Dawnbringer Crusades, as well as the narrative stuff I’ve come to love with this series, that being fun narrative things you can roll or pick for your included unit. You also get the warscroll for the Vigilors and a new battleplan called In To The Maw.

Issue 32

Contents: Moonclan Shootas (Unit of 20; Gloomspite Gitz)

Value: Great discount with this one, as 2 Shootas retail at £27.50, giving you a saving of £18.51. More on this shortly.

Magazine Contents: Before we check out the contents, it’s worth noting that subscribers were informed of stock issues with this batch of issues. The reason for the stock issue? This issue, for the 20 included grots.

This issue, as you may imagine, includes more lore for the Gloomspite, specifically the culture and city setup of these clans. The Varanspire also gets a mention, with a nice 2 page look at this Chaos citadel at the Eightpoints. Again, like with the Vigilors we have a whole bunch of narrative gameplay mechanics, as well as how to build and paint them (with the colours so far received throughout this series). Aside from that, we have another page to add to the core rules and a section on using Wizard’s stock spells (Arcane Bolt & Mystic Shield) as well as discussing the perils of miscasts.

Issue 33

Contents: Knight-Judicator (Hero; Stormcast Eternals)

Value: This one retails on GW at £22.50, giving you a saving of £13.51

Magazine Contents: The Blades of Khorne have some time to shine in this issue, with a look into the lore behind them. The skirmish known as the Carrion Empire (Skaven vs Flesh-Eater Courts) gets a mention and will fill you in on the conflict.

You can give your Knight-Judicator lots of narrative flavour using the in-issue tables. ANOTHER page of the core rules of Sigmar is in here, as well as some tips on using the Knight-Arcanium and Lord-Imperatant. Finally, we get the warcscroll for the hero and a new battleplan.

Issue 34

Contents: Incubi Darkness and Nuln Oil (Paints)

Value: From GW you’d be paying £2.75 for Incubi Darkness and £4.75 for a pot of Nuln Oil, which means you are paying £1.49 for both paints with this one, but don’t forget you do get the magazine.

Magazine Contents: With Nagash on the front cover it should come as no surprise that this issue opens up with some background on the Grand Alliance of Death, breaking down each of the factions that make up the alliance. You then have some really cool name generators for your Gloomspite Gitz (honestly, the narrative stuff is gold in this series IMO).

Their is a large painting section in this issue, as it tells you where to paint your included paints on all the models you so far should have from the series. Finally the issue introduces Monstrous Rampages, fully detailing how each of the Rampages work and who can use them.

Premium Kit 2

Contents: Gordrakk, the Fist of Gork (Hero, Orruk Warclans)

Value: A little trickier to work out, however I’ve previously worked out that you are paying £39.50 per premium issue. Gordrakk retails on GW’s webstore for £80 giving a massive saving of £40.50!

Magazine Contents: I mean, come on, this is a premium issue with Gordrakk…so guess who is the first article of the magazine…

Even though he is a special character, Hachette have stil included some narrative flavour in to the mix, with a couple of charts to roll on to find out things such as why he is joining your WAAAAGGHHHH.

There is a fully comprehensive building and painting guide for him, which includes ensuring you paint in sub-assemblies, which is very cool, Also worth nothing, whilst the instructions are for how to build Gordrakk, you do have all the other bits to make the other Mawkrusha variants and you should be able to find the full assembly instructions online somewhere.

Aside from the above you also get his full warscroll, fully detailed warscroll tutorial and a battleplan which has Gordrakk lining up on his own against many models from the Stormcast.

If you are looking to subscribe to the series, or want to check out any of the back issues to order, ensure you check out Hachette Partworks website
