Yes! The title is correct! The much loved classic board game Heroquest is getting revamped!

Hasbro, who recently reacquired the rights to the name ‘Heroquest’, have taken to a Kickstarter-style campaign to launch the new edition.

The original was made in conjunction with Games Workshop, who are not part of this project. Due to this any elements liked with Warhammer Fantasy are gone, and have been instead renamed or reimagined. The miniatures themselves have a slightly more ‘animation’ feel about them, think World of Warcraft.

The campaign has smashed its target, so the board game will be made. Sadly, at least at the time of writing this post, the game is exclusive to North America. It wouldn’t of course surpraise me if, at some stage in the future, we’ll see it in some shape or form here in the UK.

The campaign has two available options. A Heroic tier, priced at $99.99 and a Mythic tier, priced at $149.99.

Each box comes with all the usual board game contents, including miniatures, cards and tokens, as well as some fantastic looking terrain and scenery.

If you back the campaign you can also get an exclusive character.

I never got to enjoy the original Heroquest, so I’d love to give this a go if it reaches the UK!
