If after reading this article, or checking out the video you fancy picking up a subscription for Stormbringer you can do so via this link. From the same website you can also check out individual issues to buy!
We’ve had the next supply drop from Hachette Partworks! It’s Issues 23 to 26 of the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Stormbringer series, along with a couple of little extras!
We’ve unboxed this batch of issues, which you can find below. In the same video we’ve gone through each issue, showing off what is in the magazine as well as taking a closer look at the sprues.
Let’s break down each issue…
Issue 23

Issue 23 includes a Lord-Aquilor for the Stormcast Eternals. At £27.50 retail, you save £18.51.
The magazine itself opens with a the background of the Necroquake, the events that kicked off the previous edition of the game (Soul Wars). We also have a short story centered around the Gutrippaz as well.
You’ve got comprehensive instructions on how to build your Lord-Aquilor, as well as how to paint it with the paints you’ve had so far through the series. As with all character models the magazine explains the warscroll and how the abilities on said warscroll works.
For narrative gamers their are a number of traits to roll on for your Lord, as well as deeds to aim to achieve in your games.
Issue 24

Issue 24 includes a Loonboss for the Gloomspite Gitz. He costs you £19 on GW’s webstore, so this issue saves you £10.01.
I was excited for this issue as we have our first Gloomspite Gitz model. Instructions on how to build your Loonboss are within the magazine, as well as how to paint it using the colours you’ve received in this series already.
As this is the first issue to have a Gitz model the magazine introduces the Gloomspite, giving you background on the faction. It also gives you a bit of lore on Chaos, explaining the different Chaos gods.
As with the Lord from the previous issue, you have narrative content here for your Loonboss, including a name generator.
Finally this issue introduces Command Abilities and Heroic Actions, and goes to great detail in explaining how they work.
Issue 25

Issue 25 includes some scenery, an Azyrite Fountain and Chest. I’ve personally not seen this sprue before, but I am hesitate to say it’s exclusive to this series as I could be wrong!
This magazine opens up with a section discussing the Realm of Heavens, the home of the Stormcast Eternals. It also has a fair bit of lore about the Collegiate Arcane (which I’m sure we’ll be hearing more and more about as the Cities of Sigmar approaches).
With this issue not including a character, it instead to offers some additional narrative for playing your games in the realm of Ulgu. None of these have an impact of the games, they are purely for a bit of narrative. There is also a bit of fun narrative to choose/roll for the included scenery with this issue.
The painting section introduces Drybrushing for the first time, ideal for the scenery that is being painted in this issue!
The game mechanics At The Double and Redeploy are also introduced.
Issue 26

Issue 26 includes two pots of paint, Khorne Red (Base Paint) and Gryph-Hound Orange (Contrast Paint). With the other paint issues, you would save money buying the paints individually (both paints together would cost £5.50 from GW), however you do get the magazine contents as well.
This issue introduces the Aelf factions from the Age of Sigmar; Lumineth Realm-lords, Daughters of Khaine and Idoneth Deepkin. Sadly we don’t get any Aelf models in the magazine series, but it’s nice to be introduced to each of them.
Gorkamorka gets a spotlight as well in this issue, explaining the lore behind the mighty two-headed god of Destruction.
I really like the next section, which gives you some more narrative flavour. Over the next 4 pages you’ve got a few tables to roll on, allowing you to create either your own City (Stormcast) or the name (and reason why it’s all kicking off!) for a WAAAGGHH!
The How to Paint section has you using the two new colours with this issue on some of your previous minis, for both the Stormcast and Orruks.
Finally for this issue, aside from the regular battleplan, the magazine introduces the rules for Forward to Victory and Unleash Hell.
