This kill team / warcry challenge is proving to be really good motivation to get things painted as in March I was able to get the Hand of the Archon painted.
This was the kill team that I was most looking forward to painting in this challenge so I was super happy to draw them this early into the year, I did however find them a bit of a slog to do and really had to push myself to get the team done only to find that the way I had built the team wasn’t legal as I had included a blast pistol, blaster and dark lance in the same team meaning I had to build and paint a gunner with a shredder in a day.
The models were fine to build but I did have to acquire a second box as I may have rushed building and put the wrong back piece on the wrong model which was annoying but will teach me not to rush building models without checking the instructions first, painting wise I went for a bright red with a sandy base which was not my first scheme I had in mind but with it being a kill team I wanted to try a scheme that was kind of quick that I might be able to replicate over an army.
I haven’t managed to get a game in with them yet as I have been playing more Warcry but I am really looking forward to playing with them soon as I have been playing with the intercession kill team a lot recently and I quite like the pain token mechanic the team has. Sadly this is another month where I didn’t get any kill team scenery painted as I hit a wall with painting and decided to go on a building spree, hopefully the next kill team month I might get some scenery done too…
Moving on to April’s goal which I asked my regular opponent Jason to pick ( he lost the game we played and I felt bad ) and he picked …
Askurgan Trueblades
This is another warcry war band that I am excited to build and play as they are very unique and I haven’t painted any vampires in a very long time or werewolf dog things either.

Lets see how I get on next month.
