February is over and with that comes another hobby goal update, I’m not going to lie I feel that February was a much needed hobby chill and I did not do as much hobby as I had planned but now that it is over I feel reinvigorated for March you can see my hobby goal update below.

Painting wise I fully painted the Horns of Hashut for my warcry / kill team challenge which were really fun to paint I did find that I was rushing them at one stage and I ended up going back over them just to neaten bits up and add that sweet highlight to areas and overall I am very happy with how they turned out. These bring my total number of painted models this year to 20/100.

February also saw my first Warhammer event since July last year which is the longest break for me in the 13 years that I have been going to events, sure I have helped run a couple of Purple Sparkly Unicorns ( my local club ) events but its not the same as actually playing in the event.

The event itself was an Age of Sigmar event consisting of 3 games at 1,250 points, I decided to take my Ossiarch Bonereapers to the event as I had only played one game with them since I painted them back in lockdown so they were really overdo for a game. I ended up playing my fellow co-host Dave in the first game against his skaven which ended in a very close win to the forces of death, me and Dave have a tendency to play each other at PSU events and admittedly sometimes thats done intentionally as I really like playing Dave but this time I had no influence at all ( seriously ! ) in the match up, I then played against Ironjawz which is always fun with a bunch of the new units like the mawgrunta and the weird brute wrekkaz which I have never played against and loved.

This game also had an epic moment when I charged my Boneshaper into combat with a weird brute on 1 wound who got to attack first and with 3 attacks rolled a triple 6 and did 9 mortal wounds to my Boneshaper killing him !

I ended the event on 1 win and 2 losses which for me is fine ultimately I just want to roll some dice and have some fun which I did and apparently all of my opponents also enjoyed our games as I won best sports too which really made the event for me. Unfortunately I did not keep track of whether I voluntarily took the double turn so I can’t count the three games I played towards that goal, I’ll just have to play five more games poor me.

Last month I wanted to paint up another model for Marvel Crisis Protocol which unfortunately I didn’t do but March is a new month so that will be one of my goals and I might even push the boat out and try to paint 2 MCP models so with that lets set some goals for next month =

• Paint 2 models for Marvel Crisis Protocol.
• Complete a hobby goal.
• Paint some scenery.

Like I said at the beginning of the article I had quite a relaxing hobby month in February partially due to hobby burnout and partially due to the flu but I have ended February with a reinvigorated hobby drive so lets see what happens next month.
