Yes thats right Warhammer 40,000 : Space Marine 2 has been announced at the Game Awards show which as a massive fan of the first game I am really happy to hear, now we don’t have a release date yet but if the game is anything as good as the trailer its going to be amazing, speaking of the trailer.

So there is a lot to break down in this trailer, firstly the game is coming to PS5, XBOX and PC and now features the Tyranids as the main villains, having said that the Orks were the big bad guys in the first game until the forces of Chaos turned up half way through. It will be interesting to see what Tyranid creatures will feature in the game as we only see Hormagaunts and Tyranid Warriors in the trailer.

Secondly the main characters seem to be a Primaris Lieutenant , Primaris Sergeant and a regular Primaris Intersessor which I think is super cool and just brings Warhammer 40,000 games in line with the table top version. The Primaris Lieutenant is also none other than Captain Titus, although he has crossed the Rubricon he doesn’t appear to be a Captain any more, I cannot wait to see how this is explained in game as the last time we saw the Captain he was being taken away by an Inquisitor.

The trailer also shows Captain Titus with what appears to be a jump pack ground slamming into a load of Tyranids which I think is just creative licensing and probably not a new unit type but who knows, we also see him carrying heavy weapons which will be cool to see, I cannot wait to start mindlessly swinging the chain sword in combat again and hopefully we don’t have to wait too long.
