Games Workshop in the News With Record £186.8m Sales!
It’s always great to see good news stories about how well the Warhammer hobby is doing, and today an article has popped up on BBC News celebrating Games Workshops record sales despite the physical stores being closed for a large part of the year!
The BBC shares that sales have hit a record £186.6m with an increase of 26% and online sales increasing 90% from May to November.
What’s even more impressive is that the GW webstore was closed for the start of lockdown and brick and mortar stores have been hit by covid restrictions. Oh, and Games Workshop also repaid all furlough funds back to the Government!
The article also says that Warhammer Community now has 4.7 million users with a 200k increase over the previous year!
I think it’s safe to say that in this very strange year lots of people have embraced the hobby, and I’m very excited to see all the new members of the community once we are out the other side of this!
