Remember a few months ago GW released a new plastic Space Marine Captain with Jump Pack? Only, his datasheet had included options for a Thunder Hammer and Relic Shield, which were absent from the new sprue.

Fast forward to today, and also to celebrate Warhammer Day, GW are releasing another Captain, this time with a Thunder Hammer and Relic Shield.

Thanks to Games Workshop, we have one that we’ve been able to unbox and review for you lovely folks. The model is up for preorder right now, and you can save some cash VS RRP by using our affiliates Element Games. Doing so also helps us out too!

The Sprues

For those who want to see the sprues up close, well, we can help you out with that too.

You’ll notice that this particular version of the Jump Captain only includes one other weapon option, other than the Thunder Hammer, and that is a Chainsword. If you want the other weapon options, such as the Power Fist, you’ll need the other Jump Captain.

Assembly and Painting

He was super straightforward to assemble. Although the pose with the Thunder Hammer isn’t my favourite pose, I prefer the stats for it compared to the Chainsword.

I really enjoyed painting him, opting to paint him in the colours of my Iron Ravens.
