A new month means a new hobby goal update, in terms of completing any hobby goals I have only made some progress and not completed any as you can see below.

In May I wanted to paint some middle earth models and where better to start than the Witch King on foot and mounted which were very nice to paint and gave me some much needed motivation to paint, the Witch King did not take long to paint with the robes being a base of Corvus black a wash of nuln oil and then a quick dry brush of dawn stone and about 80% of the model was done. I still have a lot of models to paint to recreate the battle report from white dwarf 287 but it is a start.

After painting the Witch King I managed to play my first game of Marvel Crisis Protocol which has been a long time in the making, I have a lot things to say about my initial impressions of the game ( spoilers they are pretty positive ) which I might do in a separate article once I have played a couple more games, sadly I forgot to take any pictures but I played the original core set Avengers while my opponent played the Cabal both of which came to a threat level ( points system ) of 17. Having only read the rules a couple of hours before we played the game I felt that I had enough of a grip of the rules to play without messing it up too much and both me and my opponent really enjoyed the game.

The rest of the month was spent painting the Fellgor Ravagers for my kill team / warcry challenge mostly because I did a week of night shifts which messed up my sleeping pattern and needless to say I did not get a lot of sleep or hobby done for the week of nights or the week after. I did manage to get a ticket to the old world event at Warhammer World at the end of August so I will need to start painting some old world models for that event.

However I have no night shifts in June and I have a lot that I want to get done, so for June I will aim to get :

  • A character for MCP painted.
  • A squad for shatter point painted.
  • Start building / painting my Tomb Kings for the old world.

Hopefully June doesn’t fly by as quick as May did.
