June has come and gone very quickly and with it another hobby month is over, in June I was able to cross off a small hobby goal which you can see in green below.

In June I was able to fully read a white dwarf specifically white dwarf 299 which came out a very very… very long time ago but has always been one of the most memorable white dwarves for me because I was really into Warhammer Fantasy as a kid so it was amazing to see two armies that were not painted by ‘eavy metal and weren’t 2,000 point armies. Since issue 299 came out I’ve always had a desire to do a beastmen army and this issue is the one I always come back to for motivation or inspiration so who knows when the old world returns I might have to finally do that beastmen army that I have wanted to do since I was 12.

Other than that June was yet again a very busy month which sadly did not leave a lot of time nor a lot of motivation to do much hobbying, I did attend a Kill Team narrative event at Warhammer World with the rest of the Sprues crew which was really fun and just what I needed, I took the intercession kill team which you can find on Warhammer community’s website as you can see below.

I went for a quick and easy scheme as I only left myself about 3 days to get the kill team painted ( 11th hour painting ). I used gold as the primary colour and black legion ( a couple of coats ) to do the armour joints and shoulder pads after that it was a case of painting the silver with iron hands steel and the skin with mourning brown, not my best painted models but I am happy with how much time I put into them. I might if I get time go over them and finish off with some highlights etc at a later date.

The intercession kill team brings my total number of models painted so far this year to 57.

My other goals were to paint Captain America from the MCP core box which I sadly did not do, I have him built and primed but I really like painting the MCP models and I didn’t want to rush painting him just for this article so maybe next month. My other goal was to finalise how I want to base my Horus Heresy Iron Warriors army which again I didn’t do I have some ideas but I want to do a different scheme to how I have been doing my bases for other game systems and at the moment I can’t settle on a basing scheme.

So jumping into July’s goals what do I want to do…

• Build a new kill team or warcry war band.
• Paint Captain America for MCP.
• Finish painting my Into the Dark scenery set.
