I have been looking forward to painting the Royal Beastflayers for a while now and in June I managed to get them painted which may have been a tester for the Flesh Eater Courts army box that has been sat on my shelf since it came out.

The majority of the models were primed deathguard green and the bones were then base coated zandri dust and I used my new favourite contrast paint black legion to do all the hair on the models, after which that is the majority of the base coats done. I washed the skin athonian camoshade and everything else reikland fleshshade which also weathers the metallic details at the same time as the bone details and to finish off I dry brushed the skin nurgling green and the bone tyrant skull.

The only models I did differently were the hounds and the leader which I went for a more grey skin tone as they are not ghouls and I feel makes the leader stand out as a feral vampire and the actual leader. I based the warband in the same way as the Askurgan Trueblades so if I want to mix the warbands in the future I can do without the models looking out of place.

Now onto a small announcement, over the last six months of doing this challenge I have managed to paint three warcry warbands and three kill teams which I am super happy with but upon reflection I have felt a bit rushed to get them done for the end of the month to do this update which has left other systems like the old world and conquest that I really want to play out in the cold so to speak.

So going forward for the rest of the year I will continue to do the this kill team / warcry challenge but I won’t be sticking to a set time frame of completing a new warband or kill team in the hope that I can paint the models for this challenge up gradually rather than having to have them done for a specific date.

Now onto the next kill team for the challenge …

Inquisitorial Agents

The Inquisitorial Agents is for me the most intimidating kill team on my list and the fact that they can have up to thirty models in their roster is crazy but I am still very excited to get this team on the table so wish me luck, like I said earlier there will not be a set time frame for me to finish this kill team but I’m hoping it won’t take too long for me to get them painted fingers crossed.
