Gundam Assemble Miniatures Game – Everything We Know So Far
Gundam Assemble, the Gundam Miniatures Games has been announced by Bandai, and here’s everything we know so far
If you want to order any Gunpla kits, then why not use our affiliate Element Games and save yourself some money too?
I think its safe to say that Gunpla has grown in popularity over the last year, from being a hobby that tended to need specialist import shops or a trip to Japan, now even Hobbycraft stock Gundam kits! We’ve dabbled with Bandai kits in the past ourselves, even building up Evangelion Unit 02 on one of our painting streams (which you can check out just below or over on YouTube.
There’s been a couple of fan games using standard Gunpla kits, but it looks like something that a lot of people have been hoping for a long time is finally happening, and Bandai are releasing an official Gundam miniatures game called Gundam Assemble!
As part of the Bandai Card Games Fest World Tour in Orlando, Bandai shared the following small snippet of info:
What is GUNDAM ASSEMBLE?
GUNDAM ASSEMBLE is a tabletop game that uses approximately 5 cm-sized Gunpla to battle. Each unit has abilities that reflect their unique characteristics, allowing players to enjoy scenarios that follow the original story, or diverge into situations that transcend the world of Mobile Suit Gundam series; thus, providing both a sense of recreation and distinct battles. Detailed rules and product specifications will be announced later.
They also shared a little info about what you’ll be able to use in the initial wave:
Lineup Examples (Game Pieces)
- RX-78-2 GUNDAM
- MS-06S ZAKU Ⅱ
- WING GUNDAM ZERO EW
- GUNDAM AERIAL
- KAPOOL
- ARCHANGEL
There’s some photos floating around from the demo cabinets at the event, and there’s a couple more Gundams hidden in them for people with sharp eyes:
Deffo some Zudahs and GMs in those pics along with the ones listed in the press release
What I didn’t expect from this was that they would be using 2 inch tall miniatures rather than basing it around the large scale kits – this will certainly be it’s own side range, and with the smaller scale there’s certainly less parts – from the press images it’s hard to tell if these are push fit or will be glued together like Warhammer 40 miniatures. Gunpla kits tend to not need glue, but those connection points on the above sprue don’t look to be push fit – we’ll need to have a play with the kits ourselves to find that out
So when is Gundam Assemble out? Well it looks like it’s due to be released on the 11th July 2025! We also know how much the kits will cost! Initially there will be 4 starter sets that will be released supporting both the card game and the miniatures game – The four sets for the card game will cost $11.99, but there are also going to be 4 sets that contain both cards and miniatures for $34.99. I believe these are predominately card game packs with early access to the Gundam Assemble miniatures before the full release – but this does give us a rough indication as to the cost of these kits and they will most likely be priced in line with similar 32mm heroes for 40k and Age of Sigmar.
We’ll update this post as we have more details, but I reckon Bandai will have a large showing at the UK Games Expo 2025 showing this off for the full release of the miniatures game!
