Rumour Engine: 28th November
A regular weekly appearance on Warhammer Community is the Rumour Engine. This week is no exception!
Whereas some Rumour Engines can be ultra-vague, and could literally be anything, this weeks can be classed as a very big tease. That is of course the symbol of the Mechanicum, so know its something to do with the Imperium. So what could this be a snap from?
- A New Primarch – Gulliman has a cog on his back to represent his armour being made by Cawl. He’s out numbered by Daemon Primarchs currently, so a second loyalist must be on its way to lend a helping hand. The outer design however I can’t picture that well on a Primarch’s back.
- An Adeptus Mechanicus Transport/Flyer – The Ad Mech player in me would love this to be the case, but sadly I personally find this very unlikely. The codex has been out for a little while now, and I just can’t see a random new Ad Mech release popping up out of nowhere. Yes, their have been rumours for a while that we shall see some kind of transport for the legions of Skittarri, and they do really need one, however I think we shall have to wait until Fires of Cyraxis to finally arrive to get more hardware.
- New Scenery Kit – This on the other hand is a strong possibly. The outer workings of the piece certainly looks like it maybe more at home on a scenery piece. I do however, have two reservations. Firstly, we’ve had a fair amount of scenery for 40k recently, including the recently released thermal stuff. Secondly, that cog doesn’t look like the right style for a piece of scenery. It looks more like its adorning a mini or a vehicle.
- Primaris Techmarine – Now I only saw someone mention this just before I start typing this article, but the more I think about it, the more I think this could be the winner. We have a Primaris Librarian, Apothecary and Chaplain, and a set of Space Marine dice with each symbol from those characters on it. That set of dice also includes the iconography for a Techmarine. Again, we’ve heard rumours of one of these coming, and lets be honest, whereas its rare to see a random, single release for most other armies, the Space Marines do tend to have one-off releases from nowhere as they are the most popular faction for Games Workshop. We also have the Blood Angels and Dark Angels Codex enroute.
So what do you think? Agree/disagree with my above points? What do you think it could be? Let us know in the comments or alternatively via one of our social media channels.
